Friday night Spring Creek, McCords’s Crossroads, and Ellisville departments were called to a house fire on county road 580. Units from Spring Creek were the first on the scene and began an aggressive attack with automatic aid provided by McCords and Ellisville. Quick response from all departments played a key role in containing the fire to the roof system preventing major damage to the rest of the home.
The call was just after 8 when a powerful thunderstorm was in the area, it is believed a lightning strike caused the blaze.
