Cedar Bluff Town Council Special Called Meeting

The Cedar Bluff Town Council called a special meeting Wednesday afternoon for the purpose of the Police Department Building and alcohol licens for Weiss Lake 360 Bar and Grill.

Mayor Crane called the meeting to order with the Council discussing 3 bids they had asked local contractors to submit to fix the drainage problem at the Police Department. The bids were from Terrance Dixon in the amount of $17,500, Sammy Acrey in the amount of $16,800 and Blake Broome in the amount of $15000.  Councilman Bond made a motion to go with the lowest bid of $15000 from Blake Broom with Councilor Ritchey seconding the motion. Councilor Grace voted no, Councilor Higgins abstained, Mayor Crane Voted no.  After further discussion, Councilor Grace said Terrance Dixon had done work for the Town and he lived in the Town. Finally, Mr. Bond made another motion to award the bid to Terrance Dixon in the amount of $17500 with a yes vote from Grace, and Bond with Higgins abstaining and Ritchey and Mayor Crane voting no. Then Ritchey asked Bond to make the Motion again to award the bid to Dixon, He did with yes votes coming from Grace, Bond, Ritchey and Higgins and Mayor Crane voting no. The Clerk was asked to contact Mr. Dixon to see when the work could begin.

The Alcohol License for Weiss Lake 360 was tabled until the next regular meeting on July 14 at 5 pm in the Council Chambers.
