Investigators arrest man using identity of deceased man for firearms and Identity Theft charges

On October 2, 2024 Investigators with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a male subject for Possession of Controlled Substance (Meth/Fentanyl). Investigators later determined that the name and personal identifiers the subject used were of a male that was deceased. The male subject was identified to be Stuart Jeffery Sandrock. It was determined that Sandrock had been convicted of Soliciting To Commit Murder in San Diego in 1993.

On June 16,2025 Investigators served a search warrant at Sandrock’s residence on CR 81 in Flat Rock AL. During the search Investigators located 33 firearms, suppressors, thousands of rounds of ammunition and documents in the name of the deceased person that Sandrock was identifying himself as.

Stuart Jeffery Sandrock was arrested and charged with:

7 counts of Identity Theft

Obstructing Justice Using False Identity

1 counts Certain Person’s Forbidden To Posses Firearms

2 counts Possession of Short Barreled Rifle

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Additional charges are being pursued at this time.

Current Bond Amount- $45,500.00
