A woman with ties to Cherokee County who was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting has been apprehended.

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office had posted asking for the public’s help before the arrest.

On June 1, 2025, the 2008 Honda Accord was located abandoned on Sam Turner Road near Iva, South Carolina.

On May 31, 2025, at approximately 4:49 PM, deputies with the Hart County Sheriff’s Office-Georgia, along with Hart County EMS, responded to a report of a shooting at 45 Barton Road, Royston, GA 30662.
Upon arrival, deputies located a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as Breiana Danielle Johnson, age 34, of Royston, GA.
Investigators are actively searching for Greata Nichole Thomas (Greata Nichole Mobley), a 26-year-old white female, 5’1” tall, weighing 97 pounds, who is wanted for murder in connection with this case.

Authorities confirmed that Greata “Nikki” Nichole Thomas, also known as Greata Nichole Mobley, was arrested late Sunday night following a multi-agency manhunt that stretched across state lines.

The 26-year-old suspect had been wanted for the murder of Breiana Danielle Johnson, a 34-year-old woman who was found shot at a home on Barton Road in Royston, Georgia. Deputies responded to the scene around 4:49 PM on May 31st. Despite emergency efforts, Johnson was pronounced dead.

On June 1st, Thomas’s vehicle—a 2008 grey Honda Accord with Alabama tag 13ABB80—was found abandoned on Sam Turner Road near Iva, South Carolina. That discovery intensified the search, as deputies warned the public that Thomas was considered armed and dangerous and had ties to Cherokee County, Alabama.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Office has since confirmed that Thomas was taken into custody in connection with the homicide. No additional details about the arrest have been released at this time.
