Gadsden Firefighter Injured Battling Walnut Park Blaze

GADSDEN, Ala. — A Gadsden firefighter sustained minor injuries Wednesday morning while responding to a structure fire in the Walnut Park area, according to officials.

Multiple units from the Gadsden Fire Department were dispatched to the scene, including Engine 7, Engine 1, Quint 4, Rescue 2, Battalion 2, Medic 1, Fire Marshal 1, Fire Marshal 2, and the department’s Training Officer. The Gadsden Police Department, EMA 1, and Advantage EMS Ambulance 1 also responded to assist.

Fire crews quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing further spread. During the response, one firefighter was injured but was treated at the scene and later released.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
