The driver of a concrete truck lost control of the vehicle Wednesday morning on highway 9 south of Ellisville. The truck was traveling northbound when it went out of Control and ran off the right shoulder of the road. The driver was ejected, critically injured and was transported by Piedmont Rescue and Ambulance to a landing zone at the Goshen Church where a medical helicopter transported him to a trauma center for treatment.
The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers. The mishap occurred around 10:25. Emergency crews had traffic blocked while they rendered medical aid to the victim and removed the debris from the roadway.
