David Eugene Hartbarger passed away after a long battle with illness. He was a father, mechanic, and a man who lived a life marked by both hardship and heart. Born in Centre, AL, Gene spent much of his life working with his hands- a skilled mechanic who could fix just about anything with a motor. He faced many challenges in his life and his path was not always easy, but those who truly knew him saw the good man beneath the burden. Though his life was cut short, Gene will be remembered for his resilient grit, his rough-around-the-edges warmth, and the way he kept going, no matter what life threw at him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean (Hartbarger) Edwards, and his father, John David Hartbarger.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made directly to the funeral home towards his funeral expenses.
