ANNISTON– Anniston Army Depot hosted U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers and acting Army Secretary Adam Telle for a facilities tour highlighting its national defense mission.
Rogers represents Alabama’s 3rd Congressional District and chairs the House Armed Services Committee. The depot serves as an Army maintenance center and munitions storage site.
During the visit, Rogers praised the installation’s support for American service members. He also emphasized its importance to the East Alabama community.
“The Depot represents an incredible resource for our warfighters and a treasured piece of the East Alabama community,” Rogers said.
Rogers also thanked the Trump administration for recognizing the depot’s role in national security.
Meanwhile, Telle described Anniston Army Depot as a cornerstone of national defense and the Army’s industrial base. He said employees help equip and sustain soldiers by modernizing and maintaining military vehicles and equipment.
In addition, Telle connected that work to Secretary Hegseth’s “Arsenal of Freedom” initiative. He said American industrial capacity provides the foundation for military readiness.
Telle also credited depot employees with helping soldiers receive reliable, modern equipment. He thanked the workforce and cited the installation’s nickname, the “Pit Crew of the American Warfighter.”
Finally, Telle thanked Rogers and the House Armed Services Committee for supporting the defense industrial base. He said that support helps installations such as Anniston obtain infrastructure, modernization, and other resources needed for national security.
