CENTRE– The Centre Fire Department has added a 2026 Ford F-150 command vehicle to help manage emergency scenes.
The department says the truck lets the fire chief reach a scene ahead of larger fire apparatus. Once there, the chief can assess conditions and establish incident command. The chief can also begin coordinating responding resources.
Robert Pace of the Centre Fire Department told WEIS Radio the truck came through a Montgomery state bid. He also thanked the city’s current administration and staff for their support.
Pace said he appreciates their focus on public safety. In its announcement, the department thanked Mayor Jay Howell and Public Safety Committee Chairman Phillip Roberts. It also thanked the Centre City Council for its continued support.
The department says the vehicle will help crews make critical decisions sooner. As a result, it expects a more effective emergency response for Centre residents.
