Coming off a 42-0 victory over Sand Rock on Friday, the Collinsville Panthers (4-0) moved up a spot in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 2A football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

Collinsville hosts Class 5A Douglas (3-1) in non-region action on Friday.

Staying in Class 2A, the Piedmont Bulldogs (5-0) maintained their No. 4 ranking following a 54-6 drubbing of Gaston. The Bulldogs entertain Class 4A, No. 2 Alexandria (4-0) on Friday.

One other area team continues to receive votes in the poll: Class 1A Spring Garden (3-2). The Panthers are coming off a 69-46 victory at Ragland and will travel to Class 2A, No. 10 Pleasant Valley (4-1) on Friday.

Other area games this Friday include Ider (4-1) at Cedar Bluff (2-2), Cherokee County (3-1) at Class 4A, No. 10 Jacksonville (3-2), Donoho (3-1) at Gaylesville (2-2), and the Foothills Tractor Mahindra Game of the Week, Valley Head (0-5) at Sand Rock (2-2).
