SUMMERVILLE– Downtown Summerville will welcome trick-or-treaters and fall crowds Saturday, Oct. 31, for the annual Pumpkin Palooza and Halloween Candy Walk.
Summerville Main Street will partner with the Summerville Trion Optimist Club to present the celebration. Events will stretch along the East Washington Streetscape to the historic Summerville Depot.
Pumpkin Palooza will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Throughout the event, vendors will offer food, crafts, and retail items.
Meanwhile, the Downtown Candy Walk will begin at 10:30 a.m. along the East Washington Streetscape. At the same time, participating merchants and organizations will distribute candy to children.
A Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum train is scheduled to arrive at the Summerville Depot at 12:45 p.m. In addition, families can attend a youth Halloween costume contest inside the open-air pavilion.
The costume contest is open to children from newborn through age 12. Registration begins at 11:15 a.m., while the contest starts at 11:30 a.m.
Food and craft vendors interested in participating may request registration information by emailing slocklear@summervillega.org. Likewise, merchants and organizations interested in distributing candy should email execdirector@chattoogachamber.org.
The community celebration will bring local vendors, costumes, candy, and a passenger train arrival together in downtown Summerville.
