Tammy Grace Crane, age 57, of Cedar Bluff, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2026.

A Celebration of Tammy’s Life will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Centre First Baptist Church ROC, with Rev. Mark Cosby and Rev. Eddie Nation officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service for a memorial gathering.

At Tammy’s request, the family kindly asks that no flowers be sent.

Tammy was a woman with a big heart, a strong spirit, and a genuine love for people. She was caring, giving, generous, and compassionate, and if someone she loved needed her, Tammy was there. She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in or for the people she cared about. Strong and confident when she needed to be, she also had a tender heart and a way of letting those around her know just how much they meant to her.

But of all the things Tammy was in this life, nothing meant more to her than being there for her family. They were her heart and her greatest joy. She was the one they could call, the one they could lean on, and the one they knew would stand beside them through the good times and the hard ones. Tammy loved fiercely, gave freely, and believed family took care of family.

Her grandchildren were especially precious to her. She loved spending time with them, keeping up with what was going on in their lives, encouraging them, spoiling them a little, and making memories whenever she had the chance. There wasn’t much she wouldn’t do for one of her grandchildren, and each of them knew just how deeply they were loved.

Tammy also loved her hometown and had a servant’s heart for the community she called home. She spent many years in public service, including 12 years as Mayor of Cedar Bluff. She cared deeply about Cedar Bluff and its people and gave much of herself to the community over the years. She was dedicated, determined, and never afraid to tackle a challenge when she believed something needed to be done.

Her years of public service were certainly an important part of Tammy’s story, but a title was never what mattered most to the people who knew her best. To them, she was simply Tammy—a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who loved her people with her whole heart and was always there when they needed her.

Tammy was preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Grace, and her sister, Terri Grace.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Crane; sons, Cruz (Savannah) Butts, Blake Butts (Wesley Leatherwood), Cody (Amy) Crane, Austin (Samantha) Crane, Dalton (Allyson) Richardson, and Elijah Crane; daughters, Destinie Grace (Clint) Herb, Trinity Storm Crane, and Elizabeth Crane; grandchildren, Dawson Crane, Jared Butts, Copelan Butts, Slade Butts, Sydney Crane, Ryce Crane, Tynlee Crane, Brodie Herb, Lennon Richardson, Sage Richardson, and Baby Herb, who is on the way; her mother, Betty Ann Grace; brothers, Lewis (Amanda) Grace and Tim Grace; special niece, Haley Humphries; along with several other nieces and nephews, and chosen sister, Rachel Edwards.

Tammy leaves behind a whole lot of people who are going to miss her. They will miss her strength, her big heart, her determination, her giving nature, and simply knowing she was there. But most of all, her family will miss the woman who loved them without reservation and who showed that love not just in words, but in the way she lived her life every day.

The love Tammy gave so freely, the memories she made, and the example she set of taking care of your family and standing by the people you love will stay with them for generations to come.
