LYERLY– Tony L. Edgeworth, 66, of Lyerly died Tuesday following an accident involving a pedestrian and motor vehicle on Highway 114.
The Chattooga County Coroner’s Office received notification at 4:15 p.m. about the accident in the 6000 block of Highway 114.
Atrium Floyd EMS and Lifeforce Air Medical personnel treated Edgeworth at the scene. However, officials determined that he was too unstable for helicopter transport.
An ambulance then took Edgeworth to Atrium Floyd Chattooga ER, where he later died.
Meanwhile, Coroner Jeremy McElhaney and the Georgia State Patrol are investigating the accident.
The Coroner’s Office asked the community to keep Edgeworth’s family in its prayers during this difficult time.
