ENTERPRISE– Main Street Anniston selected Patrick “Wig” Wigley as its 2026 Main Street Hero. The City of Anniston announced the recognition Monday in an official news release.
Main Street Alabama recognized Wigley during its Toast to Heroes Reception in Enterprise. Additionally, the reception preceded the organization’s 13th annual Awards of Excellence Banquet. Each local program chooses a hero who strengthens its downtown district and community.
According to Main Street Anniston Director Karla Eden, Wigley has supported downtown Anniston for years. Eden cited his service, investment, and commitment to Main Street and the cycling community.
“He understands that revitalization happens because people choose to show up, get involved, and believe in a place,” Eden said. Moreover, Eden said Wigley’s years of service make him especially deserving of the recognition.
“I can’t think of anyone more deserving,” she said.
Meanwhile, Main Street Alabama helps communities attract investment, visitors, and jobs through public-private partnerships. The organization also develops strategies that strengthen historic commercial districts across Alabama.
