CENTRE– A two-vehicle crash slowed traffic Monday morning along Cedar Bluff Highway in Centre.

The crash occurred in the 3200 block on the Centre side of the causeway, near Midway Storage.

A white Toyota sedan and a gray hatchback were involved. Meanwhile, the hatchback left the roadway and came to rest in a front yard.

Three occupants of the hatchback, including the driver and two juveniles, suffered minor injuries. Emergency personnel evaluated and treated all three at the scene. None required transport.

Centre Police, Centre Fire, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and Atrium Health Floyd EMS responded.

Because emergency crews needed access to the scene, traffic stopped briefly in both directions. Afterward, responders moved vehicles through the area one direction at a time.

The exact cause has not been determined. The crash remains under investigation.
