GADSDEN- Four teenagers were injured late Friday in a shooting at the Waffle House on Rainbow Drive, Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford told WEIS Radio News Saturday morning.
Ford said all four victims were in stable condition and expected to survive.
One female victim suffered an injury to her face. Meanwhile, another victim suffered an injury to a foot. Details about the other injuries had not been confirmed.
In addition, preliminary information indicates one of the four injuries may not have resulted from direct gunfire.
Police Tracking Suspect
Ford said the Gadsden Police Department has a suspect in the case. However, investigators are releasing few details because the investigation remains active.
According to Ford, police used Flock cameras to track the suspect. He said authorities expected to make an arrest soon.
Employees and Bystanders Provide First Aid
The shots reportedly came from the restaurant’s parking lot and shattered glass at the building.
Witnesses described a chaotic scene following the gunfire. However, Waffle House employees and bystanders immediately provided first aid to the injured teenagers.
Witnesses praised those who stepped forward to help, calling them heroes for their actions during the emergency.
