FYFFE– Fyffe High School officials say an investigation found no credible threat after a safety concern was reported Wednesday afternoon.
Principal Jesse Martin said a teacher received a report at approximately 2:23 p.m. concerning a rumor that a student might intend to harm other students.
The teacher immediately followed the school’s safety procedures and notified administrators.
School administrators investigated the report in coordination with the school resource officer. Martin said the investigation determined the claims were false and found no evidence of a credible or actual threat to students or the school.
Martin thanked the student and staff member who reported the concern and followed the proper safety procedures.
He also expressed appreciation for the school resource officer and the school’s partnership with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
School officials reminded students and community members to avoid spreading rumors. Anyone with a safety concern should report it directly to a trusted staff member or school administrator so officials can properly investigate it.
Martin said the safety and well-being of students and staff remain the school’s highest priority.
