Gadsden Free Dumpster Day Set for August 15 at Three Locations
GADSDEN– The City of Gadsden will hold its next Free Dumpster Day on Saturday, Aug. 15. Residents can use three drop-off locations across the city.
The first location is behind Emma Sansom Middle School at 2200 Sansom Avenue.
A second dumpster location will be at 346 South First Street. Residents can find it in the parking lot at the corner of Bay Street and South First Street.
The third location is the East Gadsden Community Center at 921 Wilson Avenue.
Free Landfill Access Available
Residents with valid Gadsden identification may also take eligible items directly to the city landfill. The landfill is located at 111 Burns Way Drive.
The city will offer free dumping at the landfill from 7 a.m. until noon.
However, residents should check their items before heading to a dumpster or the landfill. The city will not accept liquids, household garbage, tires, batteries, glass, paint cans, electronics, or old televisions.
City Encourages Recycling
The city also encourages residents to recycle appropriate materials instead of throwing them away.
Gadsden Recycles accepts cardboard, newspapers, aluminum, and electronics.
Free Dumpster Day gives residents another option for clearing unwanted items from homes and properties. The program also supports the city’s ongoing cleanup efforts.
