MONTGOMERY– The Alabama Department of Public Health is accepting proposals from organizations seeking to prevent youth nicotine use and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke.
ADPH expects to award up to 12 grants ranging from $50,000 to $125,000. Government agencies and nonprofit organizations operating in Alabama may apply.
Selected organizations will work to create community environments that protect elementary, middle, and high school students from secondhand smoke. Programs will also educate students about tobacco industry marketing practices and promote tobacco cessation.
Applicants must demonstrate experience or capacity in policy development, advocacy, community education, and community mobilization.
Grant payments will be issued through monthly reimbursements. Payments will depend on the satisfactory completion of services during each reimbursement period.
Organizations must submit proposals by September 2, 2026.
