
CEDAR BLUFF-
It was first reported the men fell from the roof. However, they were actually on a scaffold near the roof line. They thought the scaffolding was securely attached to the structure but it came loose and the two men with the scaffolding fell approximately 20 feet.
Injured was Steven Kimmons, who is the fire chief of Ccdar Bluff, and Dekota Deberry, who is a police officer of Cedar Bluff. They were working for a construction company when the mishap occurred.
Kimmons was transported by ambulance to a landing zone at Cedar Bluff School and then airlifted to UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. Deberry was transported by ambulance to Atrium Floyd Medical Center in Rome where he was treated and released to go home.
Tucker’s Chapel Fire, Cedar Bluff Police, and Atrium Floyd EMS Responded to assist with Cedar Bluff Fire Department setting up a landing Zone at the football field.
