
CENTRE– Showers and thunderstorms could become scattered to widespread across northeast Alabama on Monday, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
The greatest potential for rain and storms should remain across northern portions of the area. Skies are expected to remain partly cloudy between periods of rain.
Afternoon temperatures should reach the mid-80s across much of the region. The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 86 degrees in Gadsden and around 85 degrees in Anniston.

Winds should remain between 5 and 10 mph during the day.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms could continue into Monday evening. Most of the activity should occur before midnight, although some lingering rain remains possible.
Overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Forecast lows include around 69 degrees in Gadsden and near 70 degrees in Anniston. Winds should remain around 5 mph.
Additional showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday. Afternoon highs should once again reach the mid-80s.
