Around 12:45 Friday afternoon a single vehicle accident injured one near Chesnut Bypass in Centre.

The Jeep exited the right lane of the bypass southbound lane. It then traveled approximately 100 yards through a dirt field before jumping the shoulder of N. River Street where it started rolling. The vehicle entered the parking lot of Hometown Auto and More at 501 Chesnut Bypass, knocked down a light pole, and pushed the front end of a camper several feet before coming to a rest.

Centre Fire, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and Atrium Floyd EMS responded to the accident. Centre Police Department investigated.

The driver, who was conscious, was extracted from the vehicle, treated on the scene, and was transported to the local hospital for treatment.
