He was a life-long resident of Cherokee County and lived the past 54 years in downtown Forney. He was simple, hardworking, and dedicated to his friends and was a loving family man. He could usually be found behind the wheel of a big truck or operating a piece of heavy equipment. He owned and operated a grading business for many years. Dub enjoyed riding his horses, mules, and wagon on trail rides all over the Southeast and camping with the ones he met along the way. He was a founding member of the Forney to Montgomery wagon trail ride. Later in life, he and Brenda enjoyed thrift stores, estate sales, eating at buffets, and sitting on the carport watching the world go by.
Dub is survived by his wife, Brenda Haggard; children, Roger (Lynn) Haggard and Daigo (Christy) Haggard; grandchildren, Taylor, Camille and Conley; siblings, Glenda Chasteen of Centre, Kathy Dutton of Hartwell, GA, Wanda (Jimmy) Goodwin of Spring Garden, and Debra (Sammy) Rochester of Centre; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lillian Haggard; and siblings, Ralph Haggard, Bill Haggard, Mary Payton, and Peggy Rosson.
