Reser’s Fine Foods Recalls Ready-to-Eat Pasta Salad Distributed in Alabama Due to Undeclared Allergens

WASHINGTON – Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc., a Halifax, North Carolina, establishment, is recalling approximately 5,300 pounds of a ready-to-eat product labeled as pasta salad because it may actually contain chicken salad with undeclared egg and milk allergens, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).

The recall affects 5-pound plastic tub packages of “Molly’s Kitchen California Style Pasta Salad” with “USE BY JUL/16/26 430” printed on the side of the container. The affected product was produced on June 11, 2026, and bears establishment number P-00874 on the side of the tub.

According to FSIS, the product labeled as pasta salad may actually contain ready-to-eat chicken salad. Because the mislabeled product contains egg and milk—two of the major food allergens—which are not listed on the package label, the product poses a potential health risk to individuals with allergies or sensitivities to those ingredients.

The recalled product was shipped to distributors in Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, New Jersey, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia for further distribution to foodservice locations.

The issue came to light after Reser’s Fine Foods notified FSIS that some ready-to-eat chicken salad products had been mistakenly labeled as ready-to-eat pasta salad.

At this time, there have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions associated with the recalled product. Consumers who believe they may have experienced an allergic reaction after consuming the product should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is concerned that some of the recalled product may still be in consumers’ refrigerators. Consumers are urged not to consume the product and should either throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.

The agency said it will conduct routine recall effectiveness checks to ensure the recalling company has notified its customers and that the affected product is no longer available to consumers. Retail distribution lists, when available, will be posted on the FSIS website.

Consumers with questions about the recall may contact Reser’s Fine Foods Consumer Affairs at 888-223-2127 or by email at consumeraffairs@resers.com. Media inquiries may be directed to Publicity Associate Raquel Tadlock at 619-234-0345 or Resers@HavasFormula.com.
