Slight Risk of Severe Storms, Flooding Monday Afternoon and Night

A Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe storms is forecast this afternoon through tonight for the northern half of Central AL, with a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) elsewhere.

  • Damaging winds up to 60 mph are the main threat.
  • Low chance of a few isolated, brief tornadoes.

A chance for localized flooding will continue as storms move across locations where soil conditions are already saturated.

A risk for flash flooding will be in the forecast today and tonight as storms move in from the northwest. Due to already saturated soil conditions from recent rains, we may see an increased chance for flash flooding in some locations. Remember to never cross flooded roadways!
