ANNISTON — The Anniston Police Department has announced the addition of a new K-9 officer to its ranks.

K-9 Trooper recently joined the department and has been paired with Officer Beadles as the newest K-9 team assigned to patrol the city’s streets.

According to the Anniston Police Department, Trooper’s primary responsibility will be narcotics detection, assisting officers in identifying and investigating illegal drug activity throughout the community.

The addition of Trooper further enhances the department’s law enforcement capabilities and strengthens its efforts to combat narcotics-related crime while supporting patrol operations.

Department officials welcomed the newest K-9 team to the APD family and expressed enthusiasm about the partnership between Officer Beadles and K-9 Trooper as they begin their service to the citizens of Anniston.

The Anniston Police Department encourages residents who encounter the new K-9 team while they are out in the community to offer a friendly greeting to both Trooper and Officer Beadles as they carry out their duties.
