Attalla Firefighters Contain Blaze at Vacant Residence

ATTALLA — Firefighters with Attalla Fire and Rescue responded Monday evening to a structure fire involving a vacant residence in the city.

According to Attalla Fire and Rescue, crews were dispatched at approximately 8:30 p.m. on June 8 to the 600 block of Morgan Drive NW following reports of a structure fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a condemned residence that was approximately 75 percent involved in flames. Crews quickly initiated fire suppression efforts, deploying handlines and utilizing the 75-foot aerial ladder from Quint 1 to attack the fire and bring it under control.

Officials reported that the residence was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.

Attalla Fire and Rescue expressed appreciation to all responding personnel for their prompt and professional actions in containing the blaze.
