JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Fire Department is welcoming its newest firefighter following the successful completion of recruit school.

Firefighter Porter Stokes recently graduated from recruit training and has officially joined the Jacksonville Fire Department. Department officials announced that Stokes was recently hired and is scheduled to begin duty with A Shift on Monday.

The department expressed its enthusiasm about adding Stokes to its ranks, noting that his completion of recruit school marks an important milestone as he begins his career in the fire service.

Recruit school provides firefighters with the training and skills necessary to respond to emergencies, protect lives and property, and serve their communities effectively.

The Jacksonville Fire Department extended its congratulations to Stokes on his graduation and welcomed him to the department’s firefighting family.
