According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Cherokee County 911 received calls over the weekend regarding a man who was reportedly knocking on doors late at night and asking for directions. Callers told dispatchers the individual appeared confused and possibly under the influence.
Deputies were dispatched to the area and began checking for the suspect. During the search, a deputy located a man riding a bicycle on County Road 13.
Authorities said the man initially provided deputies with a false name. However, investigators were later able to identify him as Jacob Pitts, 33, of Carrollton, Georgia.
A records check revealed Pitts was wanted in Georgia on multiple warrants, including charges of aggravated assault, exploitation of an elderly or disabled person, and family violence battery.
During the arrest, deputies also discovered a substance believed to be methamphetamine, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Pitts was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. Additional charges related to the suspected narcotics are pending further investigation.
