RAINBOW CITY— Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama is proud to announce it has received a $25,000 Community Event Sponsorship from Honda to support the grand opening of the Center.

The contribution will help expand hands-on learning opportunities that inspire students to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through immersive programs focused on space exploration, robotics, engineering design and emerging technologies.

Located in Rainbow City, Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama serves students, educators and families throughout a 12-county region by providing engaging educational experiences that build teamwork, critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills.

“We are deeply grateful to Honda for investing in the future of STEM education in Northeast Alabama,” said Dr. Farrah Hayes, Executive Director. “This support will allow us to provide more students with transformative learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage innovation and prepare the next generation of leaders and explorers.”

Through realistic mission simulations, interactive STEM labs and technology-based programming, the center helps students connect classroom learning to real-world careers in aerospace, engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Challenger Learning Center of Northeast Alabama officially opened in 2026 and is part of the global Challenger Learning Center network inspired by the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger. The center provides immersive STEM experiences designed to inspire students to pursue careers in science, technology and space exploration.
