CENTRE — Young performers in Cherokee County will have the opportunity to take the stage this summer as TheatreCentre prepares to host its annual children’s summer theater camp featuring a production of Disney’s The Lion King Kids.
The week-long camp is scheduled for June 8-13 and is open to children ages 6 to 14. Activities will take place at the TheatreCentre rehearsal space, located at 1470G West Main Street in Centre.
Organizers say this year’s camp is returning “bigger and better than ever,” giving campers the chance to help bring the beloved Disney story to life on stage. Throughout the week, participants will work together on rehearsals, acting, music, and stage performance to prepare for public shows.
Camp sessions will be held Monday through Friday, June 8-12, from 9 a.m. until noon. The week will conclude with public performances of The Lion King Kids on Friday, June 12, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, June 13, at 2 p.m.
Space for the camp is limited, and organizers encourage families to register early. The cost is $50 for the first camper, with additional siblings costing $25 each.
Registration is available through the QR code provided on promotional materials or online at theatrecentre.ludus.com.
TheatreCentre officials said they are excited to bring Pride Rock to life this summer while providing children with an opportunity to build confidence, creativity, and stage experience in a fun environment.
