Mr. James Drake Ward, 65, of Gaylesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Atrium Floyd Health in Rome.

Drake was a simple man who found joy in the outdoors. He loved fishing, working with his hands, and building things. Whether he was fixing something, creating something new, or spending time outside, he was happiest keeping busy and doing what he loved. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature and the love he had for his family.

A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM CST at Weiss Lake Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Mark Cosby officiating.

He is survived by his children, Kayla (Paul) Muller, James Troy Ward, and Audrey (Wyatt) Tulloss; grandchildren, Annabella Muller, Lincoln Muller, and Annette Tulloss; mother; and his beloved dogs, Dino and Wolfie.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Leroy Ward, and sister, Angela Hart (Ward).
