Teen Killed in ATV Accident in Marshall County

ALBERTVILLE– A 14-year-old girl was killed Thursday evening in an ATV accident on private property in the Albertville area, according to the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.

Marshall County Coroner Cody Nugent said the Coroner’s Office was dispatched at approximately 7:10 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, to Kelley Road in Albertville in reference to the accident.

Upon arrival at the scene, officials pronounced the teenage female driver deceased.

Authorities said the accident occurred on private property. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

In accordance with protocol, officials with Guntersville Middle School were notified and made aware of the tragedy.

The Coroner’s Office expressed appreciation to the agencies that responded and assisted at the scene, including Marshall Health Systems EMS, Pleasant Grove Fire Department, Guntersville Police Department, Guntersville Fire Department, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office Chaplain Service.

“Our prayers go out to the family and friends during this tragic accident,” Nugent said in a statement.
