Albertville Police Department Announces Arrest Following ICAC Investigation

ALBERTVILLE — The Albertville Police Department has arrested Martin Arevalo De La Paz on a charge of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material following an investigation initiated by a cyber tip.
Albertville Detectives received the cyber tip from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. After further investigation, detectives established probable cause, which resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant and a search warrant.
The search warrant was executed in the 300 block of H. T. Greer Road in Albertville. As a result of the investigation and evidence obtained, Mr. De La Paz was taken into custody by the Albertville Police Department.
Mr. De La Paz was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where bond has been set at $500,000.00, with the first 10% required to be posted in cash.
This case remains under active investigation, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
The Albertville Police Department would like to thank the Guntersville Police Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, and the Marshall County Joint Special Response Team for their assistance during this investigation.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
