WEIS Radio Honors Educators on Teacher Appreciation Day

The tradition dates back to 1953, when former First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt helped advocate for a national day to honor teachers. In 1984, the National Parent Teacher Association established Teacher Appreciation Week as an annual event, with the Tuesday of that week designated as Teacher Appreciation Day.
