Leeds to Host Veterans Resource Fair May 12

LEEDS — Local veterans will have the opportunity to connect with vital services and support during the upcoming Leeds Veterans Resource Fair, set for Tuesday, May 12.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Leeds City Hall Annex, located at 1412 9th Street. The fair is designed to bring together a variety of resources in one location, making it easier for veterans and their families to access the benefits and assistance available to them.

Representatives will be available to assist with Compensation and Pension claims and to help veterans enroll in VA health care. Information will also be provided on My HealtheVet, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ online system that allows veterans to manage appointments, prescriptions, and medical records.

In addition, attendees can learn more about education benefits and explore resources aimed at assisting homeless veterans or those at risk of homelessness. Community organizations are also expected to be on hand to share information about local programs and services.

Organizers say the event is intended to ensure veterans are aware of and able to access the benefits they have earned through their service, while also connecting them with support networks within the community.

Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the one-stop opportunity to receive information and assistance.
