Two Sand Rock Students Receive Power of 1 Award During District Attorney Visit

SAND ROCK — Two Sand Rock School fourth-grade students were recently recognized for their character and leadership during a visit from District Attorney Summer Summerford last week.
During her visit, Summerford spoke with students about the importance of making positive choices and how those decisions can impact others within their school and community. The presentation emphasized responsibility, kindness, and the influence students have in creating a positive school environment.
Following the discussion, Summerford presented the Power of 1 Award to two students who were recognized for consistently demonstrating kindness, helpfulness, and a positive attitude at school.
This month’s recipients were Cal Adams and Abigail Shelley, who were honored for their ongoing contributions to a supportive and respectful school community.


School officials noted the award is given to students who exemplify strong character and serve as role models for their peers.
