SAND ROCK – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats rallied from a five-run deficit to take the lead, only to see Hokes Bluff rally for four runs in the top of the seventh to take a 10-7 softball win on Tuesday.
Molly Grace Lay led the Lady Wildcats (21-19-1) at the plate by going 2-for-5 with a triple, a run, and two RBIs. Raven Todd was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Aubie Camp contributed a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI. Macy Martin managed a hit, two walks, and two runs. Ashlyn McMichen had a hit and scored a run.
Taylyn Warren walked and drove in a run. Emma Sipsy walked and scored a run. Alyvia McMichen drove in a run. Madison Walker and Janey Crane both drew a walk.
Sipsy suffered the loss after working four inning. She allowed three earned runs on eight hits with a walk and five strikeouts. Crane tossed two innings and gave up an earned run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout. Martin pitched an inning and allowed an earned run on no hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
Sand Rock hosts Glencoe on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
