Warren’s walk-off hit lifts Sand Rock softball past Fyffe

SAND ROCK – Taylyn Warren went 3-for-4 at the plate, including a walk-off hit in the bottom of the seventh inning that scored Molly Grace Lay, in the Sand Rock Lady Wildcats’ 5-4 softball win over Fyffe on Monday.

Lay reached earlier in the inning on a single to center. It was her only hit of the game.

Macy Martin managed a pair of hits for the Lady Wildcats (21-18-1), including a double. She also walked twice and score a run. Emma Sipsy also had two hits and a RBI.

Amelia Ford had a hit and scored a run. Alyvia McMichen and Madison Walker both finished with a hit.

Sipsy, who recorded her 300th strikeout during the game, tossed three innings and allowed an earned run on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Martin worked four innings and gave up an unearned run on no hits with a walk and seven strikeouts.

Sand Rock hosts Hokes Bluff on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
