Ruhama Junior High Student Honored with “Power of 1” Award

Dogtown- A local student is being recognized for her positive character and leadership at Ruhama Junior High School.

Carleigh Bearden has been named this year’s recipient of the school’s “Power of 1” Award, an honor presented to students who consistently demonstrate kindness, helpfulness, and a positive attitude toward others.

School officials say Bearden stands out for the example she sets each day, contributing to a supportive and encouraging school environment for both classmates and staff.

District Attorney Summerford presented the award and also spoke to students during the recognition, encouraging the 4th grade class to carry those same values into the summer months. She challenged students to continue practicing kindness and positivity, noting that these qualities help build strong leaders and role models when they return to school in the fall.

Bearden was congratulated by school leaders and classmates for her achievement and the impact she has made within the school community.
