Big fourth inning propels Collinsville softball past Spring Garden

COLLINSVILLE – The Collinsville Lady Panthers scored 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to blow open their softball game against Spring Garden on Monday. They won by the final of 15-2.

Gabriella Whitmore led the Lady Panthers (20-16) by going 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs, and four RBIs. Ella Coker went 2-for-2 with two runs and a RBI.

Lexii Burt doubled, walked, scored a run, and had a RBI. Aubrey Reeves added a hit, two walks, three runs, and a RBI. Carlee Davis delivered a hit, a walk, and two runs. Jemma Smith went 1-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Bella Wills was also 1-for-3 with a RBI.

Maelee Barkley walked twice, scored two runs, and had a RBI. Halle Peek walked three times and scored a run.

Brayleigh Smith tossed four innings and allowed no earned runs on four hits with a walk and four strikeouts. Wills worked an inning an allowed a walk with a strikeout.

Ava Boatner led Spring Garden (9-19) at the plate by going 2-for-2 with a run. Hayden Parris doubled and scored a run. Paisley Woodall had a hit. Kyleigh Bates drove in a run. Ellie Miller walked twice.

Kendall Birchfield and Olivia Messer both pitched a pair of innings for Spring Garden.

Spring Garden hosts Wellborn on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Collinsville now prepares to host the Class 3A, Area 13 tournament. The Lady Panthers will take on the winner of the Fyffe-Asbury game at 4 p.m. on Friday.
