Three area baseball teams are still alive after advancing last weekend in the first round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association state playoffs. Class 1A Spring Garden, Class 3A Collinsville, and Class 3A Piedmont all swept their respective opponents and will all play in the second round with a doubleheader on Thursday.

Spring Garden hosts Hubbertville at 4:30 p.m. Collinsville travels to Elkmont beginning at 4:30 p.m., and Piedmont is at Lauderdale County beginning at 4 p.m. If-necessary games will be played on Friday.
