LINCOLN – The Piedmont Lady Bulldogs won the Class 3A, Section 3 track and field meet in Lincoln on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs scored a total of 135 points, followed by J.B. Pennington in second with 127.5 points and Weaver in third with 123 points.

Mattie Todd led the Lady Bulldogs with first-place finishes in the 800 meter run (2:39.13), the 1600 meter run (5:55.72), and the 3200 meter run (12:40.75)

Jazzmin Jackson earned first place in the triple jump (34’4 1/2”) and third in the 100 meter dash (13.58). Abby McCormack took third in the javelin (94’5”) and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles (20.65). Mayley Morrow earned third in the 400 meter dash (1:06.93), and Alana Jones was fourth in the 100 meter dash (13.62) and the long jump (14’8”).

The Lady Bulldogs’ 4×800 meter relay team took first with a time of 11:47.92. The 4×100 meter relay team and 4×400 meter relay team both finished second with times of 53.16 and 4:37.65 respectively.

The Bulldog boys finished sixth in the boys meet with 51.5 points. Westbrook Christian won the boys meet with a total of 108 points. Saks was second with 94 points, followed by Holly Pond in third (91 points), J.B. Pennington in fourth (78 points), and Weaver in fifth (69 points).

Om Patel finished in first place in the pole vault (11’6”), fourth in the 800 meter run (2:08.58), and ninth in the 400 meter dash (55.67). Jonah Hulsey took third in the pole vault (8’6”).

Bentley Chandler was fifth in the shot put (40’5”). Carson Sanders was also fifth in the high jump (5’6”) and fifth in the 100 meter dash (11.70). Malachi Camp finished sixth in the discus (108’5”).

The Bulldog boys’ 4×100 and 4×400 meter relay team both took third with times of 44.77 and 3:40.96 respectively.
