ATHENS – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors went 3-1 in the Athens I-65 Softball Showdown on Friday and Saturday. On Friday they defeated Madison Academy and James Clemens by identical 3-2 scores and Athens 3-1 before losing to Cullman in Saturday’s gold bracket 9-4.

In the win over Madison Academy, Emma Eberhart and Brooklynn Bruce were both 2-for-3 at the plate. Eberhart scored two runs and had a RBI. Bruce also scored a run.

Izzy Patterson and Emma Hill both had a hit and a RBI. Kaylee Lewis and Kar’leigh Bowman were both 1-for-2.

In the win over James Clemens, Bruce and Patterson were both 2-for-3. Bruce scored twice, and Patterson walked and drove in two runs.

Sofie Dawson delivered a hit, a run, and a RBI. Bowman finished with a hit.

In the win over Athens, Bruce and Patterson were 2-for-3. Bruce scored a run and drove in one. Patterson drove in two. Lewis was also 2-for-3.

Bowman and Anna Morris were both 1-for-2. Morris also scored a run. Dawson and Hill both finished 1-for-3.

In the loss to Cullman on Saturday, Bruce led the Lady Warriors at the plate by going 3-for-4. Patterson went 2-for-3 with a run and three RBIs.

Eberhart was 1-for-2 with a walk and a run. Sydni Frost went 1-for-3 with a run.

Morris walked twice and Hill walked once.
