CHEROKEE COUNTY — After two decades of dedicated service in law enforcement, Corrections Officer Bill Bishop has officially retired from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

Bishop was recognized this week for his long-standing commitment to the community and his role within the corrections division. During a small presentation, Sheriff Shaver formally presented Bishop with his retirement certificate, honoring his years of service and contributions to the Sheriff’s Office.

Throughout his career, Bishop played a key role in maintaining the safety and security of the county’s detention operations, earning the respect of colleagues and supervisors alike. His tenure reflects a sustained commitment to public service and professionalism in law enforcement.
