RAINBOW CITY – The Cherokee County Warriors’ baseball season ended Friday with a sweep at fifth ranked Westbrook Christian. The scores were 4-0 and 10-0.
In the first game, Cayce Tittle had the lone hit for the Warriors (14-15). He finished the game going 1-for-2. Cam Mayo suffered the loss after working six innings. He gave up three earned runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts.
In the second game, Owen Jacoway went 2-for-2 at the plate and suffered the loss. He tossed two innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits with two walks and three strikeouts.
Westbrook Christian advances to next weekend’s second round to face second-ranked Madison County.
