Rainbow City Library Serving as Drop-Off Site for School’s Out Food Drive

RAINBOW CITY — The Rainbow City Public Library is once again partnering with a community food initiative by serving as a collection site for the School’s Out Food Drive, running April 22 through May 22.
The month-long drive aims to support local children and families during the summer break, a time when many students lose access to school-provided breakfasts and lunches. Community members are encouraged to donate child-friendly, shelf-stable food items to help bridge that gap.
According to the City of Rainbow City, every contribution helps ensure that children who depend on school meal programs continue to have access to nutritious food while school is out of session.

Organizers emphasize that even small donations can make a meaningful impact, noting that the effort is designed to strengthen community support “one meal at a time.”
Donations are being accepted at the Rainbow City Public Library throughout the duration of the drive, as well as the Southside Library, and Southside Baptist Church.
