City of Rome Invites Community to Celebrate America250 with Local Events and Activities

ROME, GA (April 21, 2026) — The City of Rome invites the community to take part in America250, a nationwide, bipartisan initiative commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States. Residents and visitors are invited to participate in a wide range of local events, programs, and activities designed to honor the nation’s history while celebrating the unique heritage of Rome and Floyd County.
America250 encourages communities to engage through historical exploration, cultural events, community service, and patriotic celebrations. In Rome, this initiative will come to life through a series of upcoming events and ongoing experiences that highlight local history, arts, education, and civic pride.
Events throughout May, June, and early July include educational workshops, historical tours, concerts, cultural performances, and community service initiatives. Highlights range from guided cemetery tours and gardening workshops to live music events and river clean-up efforts, all designed to connect residents with the stories, places, and traditions that shape the community.
In addition to scheduled events, residents are encouraged to explore a variety of ongoing activities such as museum visits, historic site tours, and self-guided history explorations that showcase Rome’s rich past and cultural significance.
