ANNISTON – The Spring Garden Panthers scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning to take a 6-2 baseball win at Wellborn on Monday.
Brady Ruark and Eli Bates both had a hit, a walk, a run, and a RBI for the Panthers (16-11). Zane Edwards and Hayes Guthrie both had a hit and a walk.
Brody Bostick walked twice, scored a run, and drove in one. Dawson Ellzey walked twice. Joel Hunter walked, scored a run, and had a RBI. Clayton Sadler drove in a run. Cam Cade scored a run. Grant Maddox walked.
Bostick earned the win after working five innings. He allowed no earned runs on two hits with three walks and six strikeouts. Edwards tossed two innings and gave up an earned run on three hits with two walks and a strikeout.
Spring Garden now prepares to host a first-round playoff series on Friday against Victory Christian. Friday’s doubleheader begins at 4:30 p.m. An if-necessary game will be played Saturday at 11 a.m.
