CEDAR BLUFF — A mobile home was destroyed in a three-alarm fire Sunday afternoon on Boundary Avenue, according to local fire officials.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:07 p.m., with departments from Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville, and Centre responding to the call.

Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Steven Kimmons said the structure was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Crews from Gaylesville began an initial attack on the blaze, exhausting their onboard water supply, while Cedar Bluff firefighters established a hydrant connection. With assistance from Centre Fire Department, the fire was ultimately brought under control.

According to Kimmons, the fire is believed to have originated from a generator being used to supply electricity to the home. The homeowner reported that the generator backfired Saturday night, causing a fire that was initially extinguished. However, the fire rekindled on Sunday, ultimately resulting in a total loss of the residence.

The family was at home at the time of the fire but was able to escape safely. No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was called in to assist the family following the incident.
